The pain of joints (Arthritis)

Arthritis is an important disease nowadays, especially in middle-aged people. This disease is more common in women than in men. Arthritis is not a single disease but there are different types of arthritis. Different types of arthritis also have different causes. In this article, we will examine the different types of joint pain and their causes.

1. Osteoarthritis

This type of joint pain is the most common. This is due to the wear and tear of the cartilage on the long bones of human joints. This cartilage protects the joint from friction, and if it is reduced or worn away, friction within the joint leads to infection. Earlier there was no cure for this disease but now its cure has been discovered and many people are getting cured from it. This loss of cartilage is usually caused by a lack of calcium. Therefore, it is very important to have adequate amount of calcium in the diet.

2. Rheumatoid arthritis

It is an autoimmune disorder. In this disease, our body's immune system attacks the cartilage in the joints, causing it to become infected. In this disease, all joints big and small can be affected. Sometimes a person can be disabled due to this disease. A complete cure for this disease has not yet been discovered, but the quality of life of the patient can be improved with the help of medicines.

3. Psoriatic arthritis

It is also an autoimmune disorder like rheumatoid arthritis. The only difference is that in this disease, along with severe pain in the joints, some parts of the skin develop rashes called Psoriasis. A complete cure has not been discovered for this either.

4. Gouty arthritis

This disease can be caused by the increase of uric acid in the blood. In this too, many joints of the body can be affected. It can be controlled by controlling the amount of uric acid.

5. Septic arthritis

This disease is caused by viral or bacterial infection in the joints. It can be treated with various antibiotics.

6. Reactive arthritis

This type of joint pain can be caused by any other infection in the body. It is also treated by identifying the infection.

7. Juvenile idiopathic arthritis

If joint pain starts under the age of 16, it may be due to this disease. It is also called juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. In some children, the disease can also cause disability.

Joint pain can be due to various reasons, so proper diagnosis is very important for its treatment. A doctor who specializes in joint pain is called a rheumatologist. If you are suffering from joint pain, consult a good rheumatologist.
