Astronomical Watch "Midnight Planetarium"
Midnight Planetarium:-
This is the name given to this rare watch that incorporates a model of our solar system and a wonderful invention that has captivated astronomy lovers. It took two and a half years to create the first model of this watch, which incorporates an incredible view of the planets. In this watch 396 small parts move simultaneously.
According to Mr. Giguet, the most important part of the watch, which was more difficult to make than the other parts was the arrangement of the planetary system inside, but the watch is easy and pleasant to use. Mr. Giguet worked at the famous watch manufacturer Rolex in the nineties and is now known as the founder of the watch company MCT.
Features of Midnight Planetarium watch:-
The Midnight Planetarium is a masterpiece presented by the Van Clefe & Arpels company. A timepiece that will force you to stop and look at it, which unmistakably contains a small solar system. If you look at this watch 29 years in a row, you'll see Saturn complete one cycle on the watch dial, making this the company's most complicated watch ever. The watch has two push buttons to change the day, month and year.
Dial or Sundial Dial:-
Its dial is made of solid Aventurine disc rings. Aventurine is also called Sing Dilraba or imitation diamond in Urdu. In some early watches, this dial looked wavy, but it was refined and smoothed in later watches. Given and thus it began to look more beautiful. Each ring of the gemstone moves independently and separately requiring negligible torque.
Inside the watch, the Van der Klaauw module is used, which consists of 396 parts, topped with a sapphire crystal cover, and the edges of the cover are inscribed with the names of the planets and their different colored stones.
Small Solar System (Six Planets and Sun):-
Inside the dial of the watch, six planets are included, which are carved from special and precious stones, and in the center there is a small round ball made of gold, which represents the sun.
Now let's see about the stone used for these planets:-
Astronomical Watch "Midnight Planetarium" |
Planetary Orbital Rotation (Period) Stone
Mercury 88 Days Light Yellow
Venus 224 Days Green
Earth 365 Days Light Blue
Mars 687 Days Red
Jupiter 12 Years Sharp Blue
Saturn 29 Years Purple
You can find the planets by matching these colored beads with the given picture.
The planets in the watch are arranged and moved exactly as they are in real life. If you change the date of the watch to a particular day, for example 14th August 2015, the planets on the dial will be in the same order as they were on that date. If the planets were there or if we set the date on this clock to 21st December 2020 we can see the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn.
Special day:-
The watch can also include a special day such as your birthday or some other special festival day. And it also has a shooting star inside and this star represents a stone that represents the earth on that special day. They come in front of others. The watch's 44mm case has a gold exterior with a leather strap and a sapphire crystal cover that covers the dial above and provides space for the tiny pearls to rotate.
Production and Price of Midnight Planetarium:-
The production of this watch is limited by the company. The company will make only 20 to 30 such watches every year because of the precious stones used and the demand and the popularity of the people. Its price is around two hundred forty five dollars. It is definitely a perfect gift for those who love astronomy.
